The Research
Thoughtful Approaches
At Harrison Healthcare, we are at the forefront of integrating innovative technologies into our treatment approaches, with the Mental Health Assessment Tool (MHAT) standing out as an example of our commitment to advancing mental health care. Last year, we completed a pilot study of MHAT within our Vancouver and Calgary healthcare centers, engaging a select group of clients, physicians, and our dedicated mental health navigator. This initial exploration into MHAT’s applicability and effectiveness in a real-world clinical setting has garnered significant enthusiasm from both our clinical team and the clients involved, highlighting the tool’s potential to revolutionize how we assess and approach mental health conditions.
Building on the success of the pilot study, we are now further refining MHAT’s capabilities. A key component of this next phase involves in-house psychiatry validation to enhance the tool’s capacity for streamlining in-depth psychiatric assessments. By drawing on their expertise, we are fine-tuning MHAT’s questions and algorithms to expand its coverage of psychiatric symptoms, facilitating more streamlined diagnostic processes for specialized mental health clinicians as well as primary healthcare providers. This collaboration represents a critical step in optimizing MHAT for broader clinical applications.
Research Expansion
Harrison Healthcare plans to expand our research efforts by recruiting additional participants for a more systematic examination of MHAT. This next step is crucial for assessing the tool’s consistency, effectiveness, and scalability across an array of psychiatric conditions and diverse client demographics. Through this expanded study, we intend to rigorously evaluate MHAT’s performance and gather data that will inform further improvements, ensuring that the tool meets the highest standards of clinical utility and patient care.
The development of MHAT is emblematic of Harrison Healthcare’s dedication to innovation in mental health services. By continuously seeking to improve and validate MHAT through careful and systematic research, we are paving the way for a future where mental health assessments are more accessible, precise, and tailored to individual needs. This research reflects our broader commitment to enhancing the quality of care for those struggling with mental health conditions, making a tangible difference in the lives of our clients and the efficiency of our healthcare professionals.
